I’d love to share a story with you as we wrap up the year and head into the holidays.
8 years ago today, I had just arrived at a Vermont B&B for two weeks complete with a hilarious Saint Bernard puppy.
I was coming off an intense year. I’d spent decades bringing the latest strategy and tech to clients from NASA and Nike to nonprofits and loved it.
BUT, by year end something had shifted.
I was terrible about overworking. And wanted to have more fun, travel and adventure in my life, and a business that helped me make it happen.
I seriously needed a getaway. To clear my head and map out a strategy and plan.
So I packed up my ride-or-die rescue Lulu, my laptop and the strategies and playbooks via the pros who were pulling that kind of life off. Ferriss. Schramko. Wedmore. Then we headed north.
Here’s where things get wild.
As we pulled up to this home, surrounded by the stunning nature of Lake Memphremagog and a view straight across to Canada, I felt what I call, giggly peace (my favorite).
I realized in that moment: the life I came there to create had already started.
I went all in.
And between way more cider and cheese curds than a healthy human should consume and snow walks and romps with the pooches, I designed, then launched my new, wildly streamlined and improved business.
Life as an Epic Adventure.
And two weeks turned into Spring and we started traveling and working from waterside locations all along the New England coast. Eventually returning back to Maine this year.
Was it all perfect? No. Adventures and businesses never really are.
There was the pandemic.
But, having my new business vision, design and strategy made weathering all of it far easier.
More adventures ahead.
